Legal Dispute Delays Release of Vijay’s Movie ‘Leo’

Fans eagerly waiting for Thalapathy Vijay’s new movie, ‘Leo,‘ may have to wait a bit longer for its release. A civil court in Hyderabad has ordered theaters to hold off on screening the film until October 20. This decision was prompted by a case filed by Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainment, who claims the title rights to ‘Leo’ and is demanding a name change for Vijay’s film.
This legal tussle coincides with a separate dispute over the movie’s early morning showtimes in Tamil Nadu. The Madras High Court has left the decision on the showtime matter to the Tamil Nadu government, potentially impacting the film’s release.
The Tamil Nadu government recently issued a directive imposing specific conditions for ‘Leo’ screenings. Under this directive, there will be no early morning show, with the first screening starting at 9 a.m. and possibly running until 1:30 a.m. In contrast, Kerala and Karnataka will have early morning shows for the film.

‘Leo’ is an action thriller featuring Thalapathy Vijay, along with Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Priya Anand, and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. The film’s script is co-written by Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy, alongside director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, with Manoj Paramahamsa in charge of cinematography and Philomin Raj handling editing.
Despite these legal challenges, ‘Leo‘ is scheduled for release in India on October 19. Industry experts predict that the film will be a significant success, potentially earning over Rs 70 crore on its opening day and even outperforming Rajinikanth’s recent release, ‘Jailer.
