Here’s What Makes BrahMos Special:
- Jointly developed by India and Russia, but with a big Indian role in production.
- Used by all three Indian defence forces – the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
- Can be launched from land, air, and sea platforms.
- Air-launched BrahMos was used by Su-30mki aircraft in Operation Sindoor.
- Struck deep enemy targets, including major Pakistani Air Force (PAF) bases like Sargodha, Jacobabad, Bholari, Chaklala, and Nur Khan
These precise attacks proved that India’s air-launched BrahMos is battle-ready. And because of this success, many countries are now interested in buying it. The Philippines has already received two batches of BrahMos missiles.
Akash – A surface-to-air missile made for defending Indian skies from enemy aircraft, missiles and drones.
Barak MR-SAM – a medium-range missile jointly made by India and Israel. It can target and destroy threats coming from the sky with pinpoint accuracy.
Both missiles were used successfully in Operation Sindoor and played a big role in protecting Indian airspace.
This mission is a big win for ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence. It shows how India can make world-class weapons on its own.
