PLEXPOINDIA 2027 Exhibition Set for Gandhinagar
PLEXPOINDIA’27 to Be Held in Gandhinagar in September 2027, GSPMA Announces Exhibition Plans
The 10th edition of Gujarat’s plastics exhibition will run from 17 to 20 September 2027, with organisers expecting more than 900 exhibitors and over 1.25 lakh business visitors.
Gujarat’s plastics industry is preparing for its next major trade exhibition, with the Gujarat State Plastic Manufacturers Association (GSPMA) announcing plans for PLEXPOINDIA’27 at a launch event in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
The 10th edition of the exhibition will take place at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar from 17 to 20 September 2027. The organisers expect the event to cover 30,000 square metres and attract more than 900 exhibitors, including companies from overseas. They are also targeting more than 1.25 lakh business visitors.
The launch event was held at Golden Glory Hall, Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad. Shri Bharat Patel, chairman of PLEXPO, shared details of the upcoming exhibition and its plans for participation from Indian and international businesses.
The four-day event is expected to bring together manufacturers, machinery suppliers, polymer producers, packaging companies, recyclers, mould and die makers, technology providers and buyers. The exhibition will give businesses a place to display products, examine new machinery and discuss commercial opportunities.
For Gujarat, the event also draws attention to the state’s plastics manufacturing industry and its role in India’s wider industrial sector.
The exhibition’s previous editions were held in 1995, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019. GSPMA also organised a virtual exhibition in 2020, when businesses faced difficulties in holding large physical events.
The ninth edition, PLEXPOINDIA 2024, was held with more than 330 stalls and around 55,000 visitors, according to the association’s published event history. The planned 2027 edition marks a substantial increase in the organisers’ targets for exhibition space, exhibitors and visitor numbers.
GSPMA, established in 1970, has more than 3,500 members, according to its official information. The association represents plastics manufacturers and processors in Gujarat and is also a founder member of the Plastindia Foundation, an industry body that brings together organisations connected with India’s plastics sector.
The exhibition’s growth over the years reflects the changing needs of manufacturers. Businesses now deal with new production methods, automation, changing customer requirements and the need to manage plastic waste. Trade exhibitions allow companies to examine equipment, compare products and meet suppliers without having to visit several manufacturing centres.
Plastic products are widely used in packaging, construction, agriculture, healthcare and consumer goods. At the same time, plastic waste remains a concern for cities, industries and environmental authorities. Recycling and better waste management have become important subjects for manufacturers as India works to improve the collection and processing of plastic waste.
The exhibition plans to bring businesses working in these areas together with manufacturers and buyers. It could give smaller companies a chance to learn about equipment, materials and methods that may help them meet changing market and environmental requirements.
GSPMA is also planning a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) during the exhibition. Such meetings bring buyers and sellers together, with the aim of helping businesses discuss orders, supply needs and possible trade partnerships. The association intends to invite Indian and international companies, industry bodies, institutional buyers and overseas business delegations.
For small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), access to buyers and international markets can be an important part of business growth. An exhibition of this size may offer smaller manufacturers an opportunity to meet customers and suppliers who are otherwise difficult to reach.
The organisers expect PLEXPOINDIA’27 to strengthen Gujarat’s position in plastics manufacturing, investment and exports. The actual outcome will depend on participation, business agreements and the opportunities that emerge during and after the four-day event.
With the launch completed in Ahmedabad, attention now turns to preparations for the September 2027 exhibition in Gandhinagar, where the organisers aim to bring together a larger group of businesses than at the previous edition.
