ISKCON Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj to Organise Grand Rath Yatra Celebrations Across Multiple Locations
Ahmedabad, July 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Bij, ISKCON Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj will organise a series of Grand Jagannath Rath Yatra celebrations across Ahmedabad and nearby towns from 16 July to 24 July 2026, enabling thousands of devotees and citizens to receive the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani.
The Rath Yatra tradition was introduced to the Western world in 1966 by ISKCON Founder-Acharya A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and today it is celebrated in hundreds of cities across the globe.
At a time when the world is witnessing increasing conflict, unrest and uncertainty, this year’s Rath Yatra carries the timeless message of peace, harmony, compassion and universal brotherhood. Through the congregational chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord and the public procession of Lord Jagannath, devotees pray for world peace, unity among humanity and spiritual well-being for all living beings.
One of the unique features of this festival is that Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani come out of the temple to personally bless everyone, irrespective of caste, creed, nationality or religion. This provides a rare and special opportunity for people to receive the Lord’s darshan right at their own neighbourhoods and doorsteps. According to the Vaishnava scriptures, this compassionate outreach of the Lord is considered one of His greatest mercies upon humanity.
