Roller Skating: Parth and Pransh Shah Take Gold in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad Skaters Win 15 Medals at Gujarat Roller Skating Competition
Seven athletes from Adani Sportsline Academy won two gold, 10 silver and three bronze medals at the 46th GSRSA Roller Skating Competition 2026, held at DPS School in Ahmedabad from 9 to 15 October.
The medal tally included performances by skaters from the Under-6 age group to the senior category. Parth Shah and Pransh Shah won gold medals, while Kaashvi Panchal and Bhakti Kandhar each secured three silver medals.
The competition featured inline and quad skating events in rink and road formats. The seven academy athletes competed across different age groups, with several taking part in more than one event.
Parth Shah, competing in the Under-15 to 18 Boys Quad category, won gold in the Rink 1000m event. He also took bronze in the Road 1 Lap and Rink 500m + Distance events.
Pransh Shah won gold in the Under-6 Boys Inline category in the Rink 2 Laps + Distance event. He added a silver medal in the Rink 1 Lap + Distance event.
Kaashvi Panchal, competing in the Under-15 to 18 Girls Quad category, won three silver medals. She finished second in the Rink 500m + Distance, Rink 1000m and Road 3000m events.
Bhakti Kandhar, in the Above-18 Girls Inline category, also won three silver medals. Her results came in the Rink Point to Point (5km), Road Point to Point (10km) and Mixed Relay events.
Shlok Shah added two silver medals in the Under-15 to 18 Boys Quad category. He finished second in the Rink 1000m and Road 3000m events.
Naksh Prajapati won silver in the Under-8 to 10 Boys Inline category in the Rink 1000m event. Arya Tibrewala, competing in the Under-8 to 10 Girls Inline category, took bronze in the Rink 1 Lap + Distance event.
The results add to the academy’s record at local skating competitions this year. In August, its athletes won 43 medals at the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) District Roller Skating Tournament 2026. That total included 15 gold, 18 silver and 10 bronze medals.
At the district event, skaters from the academy represented Ahmedabad, Himmatnagar and Gandhinagar. The competition also saw athletes such as Parth Shah and Kaashvi Panchal win gold medals in their respective categories.
The two competitions offered athletes different types of competition experience. The SGFI district event brought together skaters representing different districts, while the GSRSA competition included races across age groups and skating formats.
Roller skating events test speed, balance and control. In rink races, athletes compete on a skating track, while road events take place over longer distances on road courses. Inline skates have wheels arranged in a single line, while quad skates have two pairs of wheels placed side by side.
The range of events at the Ahmedabad competition included short races, longer-distance events and relay contests. The results also showed that younger athletes were competing alongside older skaters, with Pransh Shah winning gold in the Under-6 category and Bhakti Kandhar taking medals in the senior group.
Sanjay Adesara, Chief Business Officer, Adani Sportsline, said, “These medals reflect the discipline and consistency our young skaters bring to every session, from the youngest in the Under-6 category to the senior skaters competing over longer distances. A podium finish at a competition of this scale takes months of preparation, and we are proud of every athlete who represented the academy. We will keep building the training environment and competitive exposure they need to go further.”
Adani Sportsline operates sports academies in Ahmedabad, including programmes for speed skating. The company’s academy information lists coaching, training facilities and opportunities to take part in domestic competitions among its services.
The Adani Sportsline Speedskating Academy says it works with young athletes across Gujarat through coaching and regular participation in competitions. Its stated aim is to help skaters develop their skills and gain experience at different levels of the sport.
For the seven medal winners at the GSRSA competition, the results provide a record of their performance across the week-long event. Their medals came from a mix of individual races and relay events, with the two gold medals won in separate age groups.
The competition took place in Ahmedabad from 9 to 15 October, and the academy announced the results on 30 October 2026.
