As soon as the announcement was made that Deputy Chief Minister and Tarapur MLA Samrat Choudhary would become the Chief Minister of Bihar, celebrations started from Munger to Tarapur. Party workers came out on the streets, throwing colours and gulal to express their joy. Firecrackers were burst in some places, and sweets made the atmosphere even more cheerful.

The whole area looked as if Diwali and Holi were being celebrated together. In Munger city, the excitement of BJP and NDA workers was amazing. Under the leadership of District President Arun Kumar Poddar, a large number of workers gathered. Many women also took part with great enthusiasm and congratulated each other by applying colours and gulal.
Workers danced to the beat of drums. Pride and happiness could be seen on every face. The air was filled with slogans such as “Samrat Choudhary Zindabad” and “Munger’s son has become Chief Minister.” People shared sweets and celebrated with fireworks.
Spontaneous processions were organised at many places, with young people taking the lead. In Tarapur, the celebration was even stronger. Here, young BJP district president Gautam Raj led a mini victory procession. The workers carried party flags and walked through the whole market.
People showered flowers to welcome the procession at different places. The villages were also full of joy. People burst crackers and distributed sweets. From the elderly to the youth, everyone joined in the celebration.
Locals said this was not only a leader’s victory, but a victory for the honour of the entire Munger district. Some workers even had tears of happiness in their eyes. They said that after years of hard work and struggle, this is the day when a leader from Munger has reached the highest post in the state.
This moment was full of pride and emotion for them. During the celebrations, security arrangements were strong, and no unpleasant incident was reported anywhere. The whole atmosphere was filled with joy and brotherhood.
