The goosebumps-inducing Shamshera teaser is certainly still being discussed among Bollywood fans, but the movie is making news for a different reason.
Four weeks after its theatrical debut, the Ranbir Kapoor-starring movie will reportedly be available on Amazon Prime Video.
There is no official update on this development, despite the fact that the report is going around on social media.
Why is this story important?
Yash Raj Films is funding the IMAX distribution of Shamshera.
This adds to the small number of Indian movies that have already been released in IMAX formats, such as Dhoom 3, Baahubali 2, Padmaavat, etc.
As a result, the crowd will be anticipating seeing Shamshera on stage.
The movie’s theatrical run could be impacted by the information regarding its OTT launch.
Reports
A part of the four-film pact between Amazon and Yash Raj Films?
According to reports, Amazon bought Shamshera as part of a four-film deal with Yash Raj Films that also included Samrat Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Bunty Aur Babli 2, and Shamshera.
The creators had intended to hold out on its digital release for the final eight weeks of its theatrical run.
However, they went forward with the four-week cap because the OTT juggernaut provided a premium deal.
Speculation
After the film’s release, the creators will probably formally announce the OTT information.
According to a Bollywood Hungama rumour, the producers would provide Shamshera’s OTT information soon after the film debuts on theatre screens.
Shamshera billed as a historical action drama, is set to open in theatres on July 22, 2022.
The movie, which was directed by Karan Malhotra, also stars Sanjay Dutt, Ronit Roy, and Vaani Kapoor.
