Kalorex Future School East Ahmedabad Holds Fire Safety Drill for Students
Fire safety training took a practical turn for students at Kalorex Future School East, Ahmedabad, where a fire safety drill was conducted to teach children how to respond during an emergency.
The session covered basic fire safety rules, evacuation procedures, emergency response and the correct way to use a fire extinguisher. Students also took part in demonstrations designed to help them understand what they should do if a fire breaks out at school or in another public place.

A 2025 Bureau of Indian Standards document on safety and security guidelines for educational organisations lists several measures for fire readiness. These include working fire alarms, usable fire extinguishers, clear access to fire exits, visible evacuation plans and regular fire drills. The document recommends that fire drills be conducted once every quarter.
The use of fire extinguishers was an important part of the activity at Kalorex Future School East. Students were shown how the equipment is used, giving them a clearer understanding of the role of firefighting equipment during the early stages of an emergency.
However, fire safety training for children is not about asking students to fight a major fire.
